Last night was the long-awaited IAWTV meeting in Los Angeles. It was surprising how little was said by the board of directors considering how many of us have written blog posts about our ideas on where to go from here. An organized board would’ve read those blog posts and come to the meeting with an agenda. Instead, what we got was a “pre-meeting”… and we were told that the “real” meeting will be on June 15th (in NY) and June 17th (in LA). Unfortunately for me, I’ll probably be in Canada.
Send a message to volunteer some free time to help our organization accomplish something valuable.
I, myself, have registered (pending approval) and volunteered. I think what I’d like to do next is try to help the Executive Director of the board with tech tutorials. It’s time to build this academy with the tools that make our industry so cutting edge and accessible to all.
I follow a lot of awesome people on Twitter, and I often suggest various users on FollowFriday… but here are 5 of my favorites (other than my high-larious boyfriend @Rudy) who have less than 10,000 followers… although, perhaps not for long!
@AdamLeiphart: Adam Leiphart is the star of Fall of Kaden, but doesn’t tweet so much about his work as he tweets awesome links and news stories.
@Fee501st: John Fillers is a geek extraordinaire… one of my most supportive fans and a true source of AWESOMENESS. I could retweet everything he posts.
@SeanBonner: Blogger/Activist/Punk-ass Jetsetter… Sean links to things both hipstalicious and socially conscious.
@BrianLynch: Whedon fans know him as the writer of Angel and Spike comics for IDW. He’s got the kind of brilliant humor that makes you forget that Joss Whedon never joined Twitter.
Got more suggestions for awesome users with less than 10,000 followers? Suggest them in the comments!
I got this idea from James Gunn a couple of months ago and decided to join Formspring! I’ve already answered a couple dozen questions, but I’m game for more!! Ask me…
