Wish List: This Car…

Dodge Charger
Above: 1970 Dodge Charger being auctioned on eBay right now…

Rudy and I were just talking about how awesome the soundtrack of Supernatural is and how awesome it would be to own a Dodge Charger (I prefer vintage cars to anything on the market today). The fact that the seller of the above car is based in Montreal makes me feel as if it’s fate… I just wish I had those kind of funds to throw away on such a sexy prop…

How awesome would it be to soup this baby up into a hybrid… *drool*.

That is one sexy ride. I wonder how hard it would be to convert it to a hybrid? Is that even posible? I know that there are probably some gearheads out there would probably want to shoot you for even suggesting such a thing. But what are you gonna do? Can’t keep burning gas like they did in the 70’s forever.

Change all your light bulbs in your place to flourescents, don’t use as much hot water, turn the heat down in the house 4 more degrees, recycle, reuse, but please… some things were just made to burn gas and burn lots of it like this charger. Oh how I miss the sound of my 8cyl gas hog. But cars like this are sure fun to drive.
If you guys are able to get it that’ll be awesome. And if somehow you can turn it green and keep the power that would be cool too.

Love it. My dad still has his 68 Plymouth Road Runner. I’ll post pics once it gets it’s new paint job here next month.

There are a few cool hybrids out there, and even one sexy-ass electric sportscar (check out http://www.teslamotors.com), but old-school muscle is not meant to be green-i-fied. Part of the appeal of this car is it’s wonton disregard of safety and the inconvenient truth of greenhouse gasses slow-cooking us all. I am definitely pro-green choices in everyday life, but as much as smart is sexy, making this car smart definitely takes away the sexy.
