Musical Bang For Your Buck!
My buddy Doc Popular has a new album out this week! I was there when he was shooting the above music video in San Francisco last month (as you can see from around 2:56). All songs on the new album Beeps and Smudges were created using iPhone and iPad apps… so, as you can tell, he’s made of awesome! Hell, this dude is even a bona fide yo-yoer! So, I highly suggest checking him out and supporting him by paying the $1 to buy the album!
Also for $1, my friend Taryn Southern came out with a single today called “Keep It In Your Pants.” It’s titillating techno by a very very hot tamale. Lock up your sons… ;)

This is an unofficial behind the scenes video of my appearance with Toby Turner and other cool YouTubers on Black Box TV episode “This Is For You, Baby!” There is also an official behind the scenes video, where they focus mostly on Lisa Mason Lee.
On BlackBoxTV This Week
The new episode of BlackBoxTV with Toby Turner and I was posted today! There should be a behind the scenes video going up on Thursday, which I’m probably in as well… although the YouTuber interviewing me didn’t know who I was (which is fine since I didn’t know who she was either!). :P
Fanboy Funhouse Interview & Upcoming Music Video!
Last week my interview on Fanboy Funhouse went up on Crave Online! I had a great time with host Nar Williams and the FF crew, and we even shot a short comedic music video that will appear in an upcoming episode! Check out the teaser image below (that’s me on the right):

As I mentioned in an update on a previous post, my guest appearance on NSFW was being rescheduled. Well, I just got confirmation that I’ll be appearing on the show this Wednesday, August 25th, at 8:30pm PST (find the time in your area). All Talk, No Action… Yet.
Last night was the long-awaited IAWTV meeting in Los Angeles. It was surprising how little was said by the board of directors considering how many of us have written blog posts about our ideas on where to go from here. An organized board would’ve read those blog posts and come to the meeting with an agenda. Instead, what we got was a “pre-meeting”… and we were told that the “real” meeting will be on June 15th (in NY) and June 17th (in LA). Unfortunately for me, I’ll probably be in Canada.
I’m really busy this week (yay!), so I’m not going to go into details here… instead, I encourage you to listen to the new episode of New Mediacracy that was recorded last night with post-meeting comments from me, Barrett Garese, Brett Register, Chris McCaleb, Rudy Jahchan, Steve Woolf, Tony Valenzuela, and Zadi Diaz.
And, if you’re an IAWTV member, I encourage you to do two things:
- Register to give your say on the official IAWTV forums;
- Send a message to volunteer some free time to help our organization accomplish something valuable.
I, myself, have registered (pending approval) and volunteered. I think what I’d like to do next is try to help the Executive Director of the board with tech tutorials. It’s time to build this academy with the tools that make our industry so cutting edge and accessible to all.
